Veterinary Resources

Emergency Resources:

If you believe your pet may be having an emergency and it is not within our hours of operation, please use the following resources. Please CALL and DO NOT EMAIL if you believe there is an emergency.

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control website has some important information on plants, food, and the dangers of other poisons regularly found in our homes. Some you would not suspect! They also have a phone number for their poison help line if you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance. It may cost $65 for the call, but that is billed to the ASPCA directly over the phone and is in no way affiliated with Friendship Animal Hospital.

These are the Emergency Clinics we recommend.

Online Pharmacies

If your desire to shop online is out of convenience, and you want to have your pet’s prescriptions delivered to your door, please use our own Home Delivery Pharmacy. Our Team constantly monitors this pharmacy and keeps a record of what medications and/or supplements your pet is taking. Another level of safety that we provide for you and your pet.

There are many online pharmacies and other resources where you may find your pet’s medication or supplements. Did you know that only 3% of online pharmacies are in compliance with U.S. pharmacy laws and practice standards? Here are some links to organizations and information you should know before making the decision to support these entities and some dangers you need to be aware of.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, created a program called BeSafeRx to raise awareness of the dangers of buying prescription medicines from online pharmacies.
